Now That Christmas is over...

After all the excitement and waiting christmas is over, but I was very lucky this year. I received some great gifts, which I'm very excited about.
One of which is my Kindle! I'm soo excited about this, I absolutely love it!
I also got the Vera Bradley weekender. I've wanted this for a really long time, I finally have it!
I got a new watch which I love from Fossil, The Burberry Brit perfume and a scarf...
Some super cute Ugg Earmuffs, an essential for this type of weather, there is currently about 20 inches of snow outside my door, that match the gloves I got at christmas.
I got one of the eye shadow sets from the MAC tartan collection, it is absolutely adorable!
From sister I got a super cute little gift set she put together. There are a few things you need to know about me before you can realize how perfect this gift was for me. I love ice cream, as in I eat it all year round and could probably live on ice cream alone. I also love cows, I don't really know why but I think they are cute and they have the most beautiful eyes when you see one up close. So my sister gave me a set of cow ice cream bowls, a cow ice cream scoop, and cow oven mitts, along with a ben & Jerry's ice cream lock (which is already protecting a container of chocolate chip cookie dough in the freezer) and recipe book.
What did santa bring some of you?

Christmas Wish List

These are some things I asked for this Christmas. Some are expensive I know, but my wish-list's are suggestions, not mandatory and they are wishes- you know those things you've always wanted and would love to have but would never buy your self).
1. A Nikon D5000- This is just so cool. My sister has a similar one and it takes amazing pictures. I'm going to Rome for spring break and would love to take some amazing pictures to bring back and show everyone.
2. Cookbooks- Lately I've been obsessed with cooking and baking. I love movies like Julie and Julia and No Reservations. They just make me want to cook. Not only do I want cookbooks but I'm basically lusting over every kitchen gadget in William-Sonoma.
3. The Kindle- why the kindle? well I never get have time to read. I'd love to read on the train or in waiting rooms but I never have room for books in my bag. I think this would make it so much easier to start more recreational reading and less school-related reading. Why not the Nook? I hate touch screens.
4. A New pair of Sperry Top-siders (I think thats enough said)
5. This Michael Kors watch -it's just gorgeous
6. A Volkswagon Beetle- why? I don't have a car and everyone need at least one wish that is a reach for the starts. I'd still be asking for a pony if I wasn't living in the city now.
Whats on your wish list this Christmas?
Until Next Time,

The Little Black Dress...

Every girl needs her little black dress. That one dress that you can wear every where dress up or down, and wear with any shoe or accessory. These are two really cute examples. I have several little black dresses in my closest and love them. The best part is that you can wear it with anything. I've found a few that are cute and easy to dress up or down. I can throw on some tights, a great pair of heels and some fun accessories and I'm ready for a night out with the girls, or dress it down with some flats and a cute cardigan for classes or even some flip flops, cute colorful headband and a jean jacket for a summer day. Here are some examples of little Black dress's and some super cute shoes and accessories that can help dress it up for any of your holiday party's this time of year!

Pink and Preppy Gifts... On a College Girl's Budget

By now you all probably know how much I love Christmas time, so its probably no surprise I love surprising all my friends with christmas gifts, and in my group that could start to add up. So this year I came up with a super cute way to give anyone something personal, all for under $4 a person, and I got a craft project too!
This year all my friends will be getting initialed ornaments made by me! Its something that is personal and different for everyone, but is simple enough that it won't interfere with a busy schedule, I already have them all painted, tied with a super cute ribbon, wrapped and ready to go! Like I said its on a college girl's budget. I like to give everyone a little something so it can never be something to big. But I did it, all for under $4 a person, including wrapping! Its super cute project.
Also It's Mia's First Christmas, isn't she cute!!

Who doesn't Love a Christmas Card?

Like I've said I love this time of year, Christmas cards are one of my favorite parts. My sister and I still battle to open every card in the mailbox. Letters and card feel like they're becoming what feels like a lost art. I actually prefer mail and letters to email. Don't get me wrong I long the internet and Blogging of course, but there's nothing like getting a letter in the mail. I love places like Levenger, Papyrus, Crane, The Paper Source and Kate's Paperie. I just can't get enough of nice pens, cute cards and monogramed stationary. So pick up a pen, a nice card and send someone your best holiday wished!

They're finally here!

I finally got the pair of new riding boots I ordered what feels like forever ago. I ended up with a pair of Ciao Bella boots. It was quite a process to get these boots, I originally ordered them from Piperlime, and eventually reordered them from DSW. I won't go into details but after some damaged purchases and numbers communications with customer service, I may not be ordering from them for a while. I love these boots, I think they are my new favorite staple item. I also got some jeggings from American Eagle, which are amazingly comfortable. I was always against just wearing leggings and a shirt, its like you're wearing no pants, but I've been converted these are one of the most comfortable things I have ever put on. Everyone should have a pair of boots like these they always look so nice and put together.
Until next time
Happy Bogging

Holiday Season

We are officially starting holiday season. With only 15 day until Thanksgiving break, at least for me, its time to start picking out those cute outfits for all your holiday parties. I think I've found it, that one dress that is super cute, preppy and perfect for every party I have to go to!
Charlie Dress
I got this super cute dress from Vineyard Vines and I absolutely love it. I love the colors, that generally look good on everyone, and are great for the holiday season. I'm planning on wearing this to all my holiday parties this year!
Until next time, Happy blogging !!

Christmas Cups!

Its official! Starbucks now has their christmas/holiday cups out, I heard them playing christmas music and stores have christmas trees out, it is officially holiday season!
What does this mean? It means I'm breaking out the hot chocolate, gingerbread men, winter oreos, christmas movies and music! It might be too early for a tree, but we're almost there! I love old movies and the classic christmas one are my favorite. I love Its A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, White Christmas, and a few more modern classics like Elf or A Muppet Christmas Carol.
For most people its too early for a tree, but that hasn't stopped by from buying ornaments yet! I already bought a few of these santa ornaments for myself and my friends, and I may have bought an ornament that looks like a pair of Christian Louboutin peep toes, how can a shoe lover resist!
I can't wait for the holiday season to fully kick in, with caroling, christmas tree lighting on the Boston Commons, Christmas movies at the Brattle theater in Harvard square. I love this time of year, is all focused on happiness and christmas cheer, family & friends, lights, and everyone is always in a better mood! I wish it could last forever, just after christmas is never as much fun.
Maybe a tree could be acceptable this early if I put turkeys on it? I'm going to try and see how that goes over with my roommate. Until next time Happy Blogging and holiday season!

Head of the Charles Regatta

It was regatta weekend hear in Boston, Even though today was a bit chilly and rainy I made it out to see some of the races. There were tons of people cheering on the competitors. Tons of vendors to from Brooks Brothers, which I loved, Dooney and Bourke, right down Flat bread pizza company and Dunkin Donuts! And of course, my favorite, Kettle Corn!! Despite the rain it was still a great day!

Charles Street

My family came into the city today to see me at school and we spent the afternoon on Charles Street. Any one who has been to Boston has probably heard of Charles Street. It has got to be one of the prettiest and cutest places in the city. Streets are lined with trees, BEAUTIFUL buildings and tons of super cute shops, boutiques and restaurants.
We had dinner at an AMAZING restaurant called Toscano, it was honestly one of the best dinners I've had in a really long time. Best gnocchi I have ever had!!
There are lots of super cute boutique shops and antique stores just packed with amazing find and interesting things you would never find anywhere else! I found this super cute ring in one store that is just packed to the gills with jewelry, everything from pins, and pearls to diamonds and tiaras, you could just spend hours in this one store looking at all their merchandise! I got this super cute ring for only $10.
So if your ever in Boston definitely spend some time on Charles street, you'll never want to leave!
Until next time,
Happy Blogging

Rainy Days

Its been raining for days! I like a day of rain now and then but there can definitely be too much rain. But all this rain reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and the famous closing scene in the rain. So I've been playing around with a site you've probably heard of, called Polyvore, and put together some Holly approved rain accessories.
A classic trench, of course. I just love this umbrella, I'm a fan of plaid so of course the Burberry pattern it cute, plus its timeless. In the movie Holly wears a little pair of black shoes, but I wouldn't suggest wearing your flats in such weather. Trust me, I know from experience, the rain can be just too much for your flats to handle sometimes. A cute rain boot can be the perfect solution instead. And while your covering what ever cute outfit you have one under all your rain wear, some classic pearls will go with everything! With cute rain accessories like these, the rain can stay as long as it wants! (well, ok maybe not forever)
Until the sun comes back out, Happy Blogging!

The perfect school bag

I would have to say lately for school I would normally promote a backpack to hold everything you could possibly need to carry. But I have found that I am really liking my VV tote as a school bag right now. It is big enough to carry a notebook and a smallish textbook and hold anything I may need. It also keeps me from carrying all the thing I won't ever need. Plus its a Red Sox pattern, which for living in Boston is a must.
For a backpack, if thats what you like to carry, I love my Jester by North Face. Pockets for everything and fits anything you might need to bring to back to back classes.
Hope everyone's year has started well and Happy Blogging

Back to School Shopping Trip

I may have mentioned a few time that I LOVE outlet shopping and bargain shopping. So I jumped at an invite to go to Freeport, ME for a back to school shopping trip, and I got some great finds.
Ralph Lauren Polo Button Down
I have been looking for a shirt like this for a pretty long time but they just never fit right. Well the search is now over, I now have my pink and preppy button down, for a great price too.
North Face Jacket
I got this super cute North Face at an great price, I just couldn't leave it there. Its great for a casual day in lounge wear or a quick trip to the gym. I just love it, and the blue strip on the arm adds a cute pop of color.
Banana Republic brings a new twist on the sweatshirt
I am in LOVE with this piece. Any one who knows me knows I don't like to leave my room in sweats, but Banana Republic has come tot he rescue. This super cute piece gives the sweatshirt a pulled together look, so you can be comfy and look great at the same time, you can even dress it up. I have a feeling this may become a new favorite!!
Accessories!!
I love accessories, this scarf and hair clips are super cute. I wear scarves all the time and I'm loving the golden yellow color of the scarf, especially in the fun animal print. I also got these super cute jeweled bobby pins, they give a little bit of pop to any outfit.
Cardigans Galore !!!!
I wear a cardigan basically every day. So on this shopping trip I decided to stock up! I got two of my favorites, the Jackie Cardigan from J Crew, and a Pink one from the Gap. You can never have enough Cardigans !! :D

Getting Ready for Back to School

I'm down to about three weeks until I move back to school, and I've started my back to school shopping, which is my favorite part of heading back to school. To start this off I got a new planner and a new wallet from Vera Bradley.
When I'm at school I constantly need to have my ID at the tips of my fingers, along with money and other cards. This wallet has plenty of space for all your money, ID's, credit cards and every thing else you'll need to carry.
The planner is super cute and is separated into monthly and weekly calendars, so there is plenty of room for all your appointments. There are also holidays preprinted in, some that are super cute like, make up your own holiday day and international roast a marshmallow day, which I will definitely be celebrating. And when I bought the wallet and planner I got a free change purse in the same pattern, which I absolutely love.
I'll be back with more back to school updates including: cute and preppy school supplies, and a report on my back to school shopping spree in Freeport, Maine
Until Then Happy Blogging

cute and colorful

Summer seems to be going by so quickly, so keep summer going with cute colorful nail polish and accessories. I was in a small gift store while on vacation a few weeks ago and found this cute flowered ring. It has inspired me to widen my nail polish horizons to more then just pink an reds. Pink, purple, orange, green and blue rhinestones pull together your otherwise over daring polish and adds some fun to a summer outfit.

Super Cute Finds

It just makes my day when I unexpectedly make a great find. I love ribbons, I can't explain it but I do, even if I have nothing to do with it when I get it home. So when I found these I had to have them.
I absolutely love the combination of the three. How can you pass up the little gators reminiscent
of the iconic Lacoste mascot, the super cute and preppy stripe, and the third, well who doesn't love the beach. To
make an great find even better my little bundle cost a total of $6.

Back with a girl's best friend

Hi,
I'm so sorry its been so long since I last posted. I can't believe how fast summer is going, but I'm back with a preppy girl's best friend, her dog!
My favorite furry friend unfortunately past away in January, after 14 years.
But we've just added a new member to our family: Mia!
She is a german shepherd mix, about 14 weeks old now. We rescued her from a near by shelter a few weeks ago, and she is settling right in. She has the perfect personality, calm and quiet but still playful and loves everyone she meets. So thats what I've been up to the past few weeks!
And it wouldn't be pink and preppy posting if I didn't have some cute ways to pamper and spoil your best friend. Jax and Bones has some super cute rope toys that I am dying to buy little Mia, especially Louie the Lobster, Kramer the Crab and Larry the Lion. Harry Barker has some cute food canisters for storage and lots of cute collars and leashes, the newport is one of my favorites. Planet Dog has really cute toys, in great colors, for your best friend, most that are
eco-friendly too!
Thats all for now, Happy Blogging!

Dressing up for Spring and Summer

So we are quickly approaching real summer weather, Finally! and I'm counting done to days until I can go to the beach, sit on the dock and lounge in the sun with a good book, about 20 I'd say. But before we can do that we can dream about it as we pick out cute summer outfits. Sun dresses with a few accessories are a must! With only a few basics you can create an infinite amount of cute outfits, and it doesn't have to cost a lot. I got this cute dress at Target for $19 on Sale (regularly $24) and the white jean jacket at Target for $24. Separate the dress and pair it with some cute jewelry and a sandal or take the jacket and pair it with a plain or graphic tee and a little skirt with some flats, the combinations are endless.
The second thing thats a must for dressing up for Spring and Summer is a great pair of sunglasses. I love buying sunglasses, my favorite pair are my coach sunglasses I got from my parents on my 17th birthday. These are amazing, the lenses are really dark, even though they don't look it in this picture, but don't tint everything when you're looking out from behind them. I also love to buy cheaper pairs of sunglasses so that if they get crushed in my purse or sat on its not a big loss. Besides you can never have to many pairs.
And the last spring and summer essential is a cute pair a goes-with-everything sandals. I love these sandals from American Eagle. The gold makes them great for summer, you can dress them up or down. I also have a pair of sandals I got at Macy's last year that is just a rhinestone band over the toes that also goes with absolutely everything and just makes any outfit look a little bit nicer.

Amazingly Clean Skin: Part II

Hey everyone, so this is another one of my new favorite, I use it everyday after I was my face and it is amazing! Even if you don't think you have large pore, which I didn't think my pores were large, but after this product I couldn't imagine going with out it, even if I have missed a few days I feel like a can see a difference. Just dab some on a cotton ball and rub all over your face, not only will your pore look smaller but it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and amazing.

Amazingly Clean Skin

So here it is just as I promised, a week of the Best Bath Store. I have spent some time using the products so I could tell you how they actually work, and I would have to say that I LOVE every product I have used. Through out this week I will be writing about some of the products I have tried, to start: The Dead Sea Facial Scrub
The Dead Sea Facial Scrub has to be one of my favorite products. One of the great thing about this company is that you can order free samples of almost everything they sell. So I started with the sample, which is the small container on the left and got about 2-3 uses out. My skin has never felt so soft after a facial scrub before, I have no reactions to the scrub either. Its recommended that you use it 2-3 times a week so even thought the full size bottle is only 4 oz. you will get plenty of use out of it. By far my favorite skin product I've ever tried!
Check out their website and all their other products at www.bestbathstore.com
and stay tuned for posts about other products I've tried this week including: Pore Refining Facial Toner, several body soaps, and the Best Bath Shop Lip Balm!

Perfect face

One of the essential staples of being preppy is a fresh face, with a clean simple look and no heavy makeup. I just got these makeup brushes from Eco Tools at Target. They are by far the softest brushes I have ever put to my face. They work just as well as many much more expensive makeup brushs I own but they where about half the price; The set which included a face brush, concealer brush, eye shadow brush, eyeliner brush and brow/lash groomer was about $11 and the large blush brush was $8. They are definitely my new favorite beauty tools!

Give them and try and check out they entire line of products, its definitely worth a try.

Always Prepared

Always be prepared with paper and pen! I always try to have a small notebook and pen in my purse. Its great when you want to write done quick thoughts, to do's, or gift ideas when you are out and about. I love these pocket papers by Vera Bradley; the classic Moleskine notebooks now come in really great colors, like pinks, greens, blues, then of course the classic black. Always be prepared with these cute notebooks that will look cute and keep you organized all at the same time!
