I would have to say lately for school I would normally promote a backpack to hold everything you could possibly need to carry. But I have found that I am really liking my VV tote as a school bag right now. It is big enough to carry a notebook and a smallish textbook and hold anything I may need. It also keeps me from carrying all the thing I won't ever need. Plus its a Red Sox pattern, which for living in Boston is a must. For a backpack, if thats what you like to carry, I love my Jester by North Face. Pockets for everything and fits anything you might need to bring to back to back classes.
